We provide both Growth Capital and Acquisition Capital to small and mid-size private companies along with operational expertise to help scale, reposition, restructure or exit. We focus our investment efforts in the US and Canada.
Growth Capital
Our growth capital investments are primarily geared towards assisting technology and healthcare companies scale their business beyond the early stages to a more mature sustainable growth organization. We work well with organizations that have annual revenue in the $3m to $20M range and need capital and help to scale beyond. We tend to prefer working with companies that can reach profitability quickly if needed.
Acquisition Capital
We believe the current economic environment provides ample opportunity for entrepreneurs and mid-career executives to buy successful new age and old industry businesses from families and owners who have a desire to exit. Many of these businesses have great potential to increase sustainable value rapidly.
Our approach is to partner with mid-career executives and select search fund entrepreneurs to help them buy and or recapitalize promising business in the lower middle market with EBITDA between $1.5M – $6M. This segment of the market is full of opportunities to build value through acquisition. As investors, we are enthusiastic about backing the right people and guiding them. We do not shy away from restructuring or turnarounds.
We invest in a variety of industries including technology, healthcare, professional services, field services, distribution and more. Our biggest selection criteria in making an investment are the attitude and desire of the people we work with to grow and build a strong and nimble customer centric organization which will ultimately create value for all stakeholders.
We get most excited about business that have a strong and long-term relationship with their customers, a strong stream of recurring or near recurring revenue and higher barriers to entry.
